FAQs

  • We are a modern mental health clinic rethinking how mental health works for everyone. We believe it should be easy for everyone to access care and experience real growth. Valley Psychiatry makes it simple for people to pay for psychiatry sessions using insurance or with cash at an affordable rate.
  • Our psychiatric providers offer consultations and if needed, prescriptions and medication management. We also offer referrals and resources for psychotherapy.
  • Valley Psychiatry estimates the cost based on your individual health plan and benefits. You will get a summary of your out-of-pocket costs before your session.
  • We partner with these plans:
  • Aetna
  • Federal Employees BCBS
  • CareFirst Blue Cross Blue Shield
  • Cigna
  • Johns Hopkins Health Plans
  • UnitedHealthcare
  • Optum
  • Maryland
  • Washington, DC
  • Virginia
  • Studies show that virtual mental healthcare is just as effective as in-person. Research on outpatient care shows little difference in results, even if experiences differ. We believe that virtual care has an important role in making mental health services more accessible. It can solve problems such as distance, cost, or finding in-network providers who get you. The American Psychological Association has resources if you want to learn more about the effects of virtual care.
  • Unfortunately, we do not accept Medicare at this time.
  • First session begins with a comprehensive 60-minute initial appointment to understand your concerns, strengths, goals, and health background, including family, friendships, and substance use. Your provider will conduct a thorough assessment, possibly including symptom scales, to develop a deep understanding and collaborate on an effective treatment plan. This plan, tailored to your preferences and needs, may involve medication, psychotherapy, group sessions, or professional consultations. If medication is chosen, we’ll discuss its potential side effects and outcomes.
